Our Wedding

Katie and Phil met in Washington, D.C. in the fall of 2015 after they both recently moved to the city upon graduating from college. After a long day at their new jobs, they met at a neighborhood happy hour, with Paige, Tori, and Neal, all of whom are now in the wedding party, and briefly chatted and exchanged numbers. At the end of the evening they parted ways and promised to meet again. However, once fall was in full swing, they found they both had become too busy, and were constantly asking for “rainchecks” to reschedule, as every time they tried to go on a date, one of them was always out of town! They simply deemed it “not meant to be” and continued on with their busy lives. The universe had other plans. Nearly two years went by when they ran into each other at a mutual friend's house warming party. Katie was walking up the stairs and accidentally tripped and spilled her drink on Phil, and the rest was history! They started dating shortly after and have been together ever since.

The Baths at Virgin Gorda is a natural wonder, featuring boulders and caverns that make up a maze that leads to secret rock pools and the famous Cathedral Room, a natural pool inside a small cave. Gorda Peak National Park was established as a national park in 1974 and consists of 254 acres. It’s also the highest peak on Virgin Gorda at 1,370 feet. It’s a protected, forested area and high on the conservation list because it’s one of the last Caribbean dry forests. ou can hike through the forest up to the peak and look for some tropical plants and animals along the way. There are several Tropical Important Plant Areas (TIPAs) on Virgin Gorda (Gorda Peak being one of them) with several native plant species that have high conservation importance. You can find more information about the species and areas on the trail signs at the second entrance.
