Katie and Eric first met in June of 2021 on a mutual friend's boat out on Coeur d' Alene lake, but did not exchange many words or interactions. Fast forward to the following winter in February of 2022, the same mutual friend invited both Katie and Eric on a ski trip to Schweitzer mountain in Sandpoint, Idaho. Some might say they were being set up.

According to Eric's brother, Andrew, Eric thought Katie was very cute and was excited to spend more time with her on this trip. He even offered to pick up her and her friend to drive the entire two hours.

According to Katie she thought Eric was also very cute and remembers the vivid moment she wanted to date him.

After a long day on the mountain, the couple and their friends decided to go out to a local bar where Eric engaged in many...and I mean many, games of foosball with some of the locals. Justin, the mutual friend, walks up to Katie and asks "sooo what do you think of my friend?" Katie looks over at Eric, hunched over, with a face of determination, absolutely demolishing the two locals as the others in the group ordered drinks. Katie knew in that moment that she needed to date this foosball champion.

Katie and Eric have been together for nearly three years now, a lot of which has survived the trials of long distance due to Eric's traveling rotations. Every other weekend, Katie drove to where Eric was currently located on rotation to spend as much time with him as possible.

Now, Katie and Eric finally live together in the same city. Katie is now currently working as a nurse at Sacred Heart and Eric is finishing his last year of medical school at UW. The couple will soon move to wherever Eric is accepted into a residency program to start their lives for the many years to come.

We are excited to celebrate with you all and can't wait to be married and start the rest of forever!
