Our Wedding

How We Met

Tinder. It was Tinder.Our equally odd profiles caught each other's attention.His: A reference to Bob's Burgers and a friend's pet pig name Miss Picklesworth.Hers: A mix of Henry the Hedgehog and a machete with beer. This would be fun! Our first date turned into a full-day in Asheville, NC starting at Biscuit Head from brunch, continuing on to 3 breweries as we continued to make excuses to stay, ending with class at Cook Out for icecream in a not-so-scenic side of town and a good-bye handshake.

Disregarding the Distance

James in Jonesborough, TN and Katie in Asheville, NC - We'd spend the next 3 years driving through the scenic Blue Ridge Mountains multiple times a week to reconnect 1.5 hours apart. We'd come to think of both cities as home while sharing friends, music, exploring great food (such as the great Wendy's frosty), and love for cooking. Erwin, TN would be a frequent mid-week meet-up for dinners and mountain overlook stagazing.

From our first concert together through today, we make and point to experience live music whenever able. From seeing Cold War Kids at Wild Wing Cafe on a Sunday morning, to Death Cab for Cutie at Walnut Creek Ampitheater, and even the famous Sppon Lady of Asheville, we love to share in the expeirence of live music everywhere we wander.

Travel

We've been so fortunate to see so many amazing places. In 2019 we toured Europe and got to see James's sister and family in Germany around Oktoberfest. Along the way we've brought our travel complanion Oogles. Savannah, Georgia remains among our favorite vacation spots to visit for it's history, charm, music, and wonderful food.

James planned a day-trip hike with some old friends to a favorite location of Katie's: Hanging Rock. At the top of this scenic overlook, he popped the question.

Engagement

We can't wait to start the next chapter and ~sincerely~ grow old together!
