Just a short drive from downtown, Sleeping Bear Dunes is a must see if you are looking for a unique and active experience. Climb the dunes and check out the breath taking views overlooking the shoreline of Lake Michigan and Glen Lake. This is one of our favorite places to visit when we are in town.
One thing Traverse City is known for is its vast number of Breweries and Wineries. Take an afternoon to tour the Old Mission Peninsula or Leelanau Peninsula and explore upwards of 20 Norther Michigan wineries. Wine not your thing? Traverse City has 10 + Breweries, all with their own great atmosphere and fantastic food! Multiple Transportation companies are available specifically for brewery and winery tours. Don't have much time? Check out a few and enjoy the beautiful scenery that is Traverse City.
Front Street is the definition of "Downtown Resort Town." Some of Traverse City's best specialty shops and restaurants are located on Front Street just one block from the shores of West Grand Traverse Bay.
Looking to throw some money away? Just a few miles out of town on M-72 is Turtle Creek Casino. You know what happens at casinos; we don't need to explain.
