We met in junior high at Laverne Public Schools where we attended the same classes. We did date briefly back then but it just wasn't our time. Later Tyler and his family had to move for work and we lost touch for a few years.
On June 1st, 2019 Tyler happened to be back in the area working cattle and sent me a friend request on Facebook where we then began messaging each other back and forth. He came to see me that night and we caught up on each other's lives and all the things we had missed over the years. Despite so many things having changed, it felt like we were picking up right where we had left off. We still enjoyed talking to each other, we shared a lot of the same interests and we were both seeking something genuine.
From there our love grew and we ended up relocating to an apartment in Altus with the boys and began planning our lives together. On December 28th, 2019 Tyler proposed. His original plan was to propose in the park under some Christmas lights and just like our luck would have it, it began to rain. He decided to go ahead anyway and proposed in the living room of his family's house where the words "through thick and thin" nervously came out "through thick and thicker" and we all had a good laugh and the words still stuck.
We were able to get a house in July of 2020 and began to make it a home. It seemed like every time we tried planning our wedding from that point something would get in the way. In 2020 COVID and the great toilet paper crisis🤣 separated a lot of families and prevented a lot of big celebrations. In 2021 the ice storm took the pipes under our house and all our money with it so we decided to put the wedding planning on the back burner for a while. We knew neither of us planned on going anywhere else, we saw each other as husband and wife and we have lived and loved as such. In 2022 we got pregnant with Olivia and had to upgrade our vehicle. In 2023 we lost my great Grandma Dovie and a few months later we had Olivia and disappeared into our mom and dad bubble with the kids for a while. In 2024 we lost Tyler's mother Angel and we were having to push through more heartbreak.
Now in 2025, we have lived through and experienced many different challenges throughout these years together and still yet, our love got stronger. Through thick and thicker we have seen the best and worst versions of each other and through thick and thicker we will still love each other. Come celebrate our love with us! See y'all July 7th! 🎉 😊
