Being able to have one of the biggest moments of our lives, with all those who love us, on a piece of lasting history is an absolute honor. We would like to thank Chief Master Sergeant (Ret) Gerald Raynal and Shelly Raynal for allowing us to have this opportunity and moment in such an extraordinary piece of history.
Jackson Barracks continues its tradition of serving the citizens of the state and the nation. For more than 175 years, the post has survived war, the ravages of time, flooding and severe hurricanes. As the headquarters for the Louisiana National Guard, it serves as an enduring monument to the citizen soldier, the military and our nation.
Growing up spending hours on end in the World War II Museum and at the Chalmette Battlefield, allowed for a passion of history to be instilled in Katie. A passion that Dylan shares as well.
Chief Master Sergeant (Ret) Gerald Raynal and his wife Shelly currently reside in the restored antebellum home that is featured in the background of our wedding invitation.
Our wedding ceremony will take place inside the Powder Magazine. The Powder Magazine brick building is where the black gun powder was stored to assist in defending the city of New Orleans.
Our wedding reception will take place at the multi-use center, "The MUC", which is used as ceremony facility on post.
We look forward to celebrating with you as we enter into this next chapter as husband and wife!
