We first met as freshmen at Carleton College through friends, and though it was slow burn at first, by the end of our Freshmen year, we had decided to make it official.

After school we found ourselves in different cities, with Alec in Chicago and Katie in the Bay Area. Despite the distance we made it work through many visits and trips around the country, knowing we’d be in the same city before too long.

Before too long, June 2020 rolled around, when we drove cross-country to set Katie up in Chicago, and began making Chicago home. Of course a big part of that was being together, moving into our first place together, and getting our sweet pup Wally.

So naturally, we decided to make things more permanent, buying our first place. And if not a big enough day as is, we got engaged the same day as closing on our condo.
