I was visiting St. Norbert over winter break in early 2020 to check out my new campus apartment after a semester abroad. As I was pulling up, I saw Nolan walking back to his dorm on Marsh St. I quickly got out of my car, and ran to give Nolan the biggest hug. Little did I know, that was the moment that Nolan knew he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me.

That spring semester Nolan and I spent time hanging out with our mutual friend group, and I loved watching Nolan play in the SNC basketball games. Nolan admits that he would scan the crowd for me at every home game. However, we would only have about a month and a half of this before we were sent home to finish the spring semester.

I texted Nolan that summer, after getting his number from our best friend Theresa, and asked him to go with me to our friend's baseball game up in Door County. Nolan couldn't believe that I texted him out of the blue when he was thinking of inviting me to the same game. We rode up together, catching up the whole car ride there. As I was re-capping our day to Theresa over FaceTime, Nolan texted me and asked me out on an official date. I think I had the biggest look of shock on my face, and was too stunned to speak. Theresa sat in anticipation until I could finally tell her about the text I got from Nolan.

On July 17, 2020 we went on our first date. Nolan came to my house, had a beer with my dad, and then we went out for dinner and Cedar Crest ice cream. Our time together on that first date truly felt effortless. We went on a few more dates that summer and returned to St. Norbert that fall as a couple.

Our friends were shocked that Nolan and I became a couple over that summer. It was so fun to surprise them as a lot of my friends were friends with Nolan first. Our senior year would be spent hanging out at my apartment with our best friends Theresa and Margeaux, having drinks at The Abbey and doing the Shake of the Day with Nolan's basketball teammate Wade, and truly falling in love with each other.

After graduation, we moved into our apartment in Green Bay. Almost three years into dating, we planned a trip to Ireland for May of 2023. During our trip, we hiked to the top of Croagh Patrick mountain. On the way up the mountain, I told Nolan about the small chapel at the top where people could get married. I joked with him that it would be a long hike up the mountain to decide if you truly want to spend the rest of your life with someone. Little did I know, when we got to the top, Nolan got down on one knee and proposed. After saying yes, we were congratulated by the crowd of about 75 people that were also at the top of the mountain, including a local kid's boxing club (picture on our photo timeline). We spent the rest of our trip as a newly engaged couple, and soaked in every moment.

We are so excited for our wedding, and cannot wait to celebrate with our favorite people!
