Katie had just moved to Baton Rouge, LA and was experiencing a lot of culture shock. Having never been further south than the state of Virginia, Louisiana was...pretty intense. Thankfully, Katie met Garrett and Tabby (at a Honda dealership!) who not only made her feel totally at home, but they also invited her to their local game shop, Gamer's Paradise, for weekly board games!

Eric was in Morocco and Spain when Katie moved to Baton Rouge, so it wasn't until July that they would meet. During that time, Tabby talked Eric up to Katie, and also messaged Eric couple times to let him know that Katie had just moved to town. One Thursday, Tabby told Katie that she and Garrett would not be at Gamer's Paradise for board games, but that Eric would be there to play board games. Katie walked into the store to see Eric setting up Battlestar Galactica the board game, he invited her to play...and the rest is history.

This is basically how Eric proposed.

But in reality - they closed on their beautiful house in Rowlett, TX on March 31st, 2017. That Monday Katie and Eric had planned to go over to the house and clean the kitchen and bathrooms before they moved everything in. The plan was to also go to Costco and pick up cleaning supplies. However, Eric was adamant about stopping by the house first before going to pick up supplies at Costco. As Katie was looking around the room imagining what furniture would go where, she turned around and Eric was down on one knee. Does Katie remember anything Eric said? Nope. But it was an absolutely perfect way to propose and Katie would not have had it any other way.

They then went to Costco and picked up cleaning supplies.
