Yes! We surprised everyone (including our parents) and had a private elopement on 01/01/2024. However, we wanted the chance to celebrate with all of our loved ones, which is why we are hosting a reception (that's the part everyone wants to come to anyways)!
Can I come to the vow renewal?
As we want our vow renewal to be as similar to our actual elopement as possible (small and intimate), we ask that only those whose invitations/online RSVP indicate the vow renewal attend this portion of our day. For those whose invitations do not indicate the vow renewal, please relax in the shelterhouse and enjoy a drink (or several) on us. We can't wait to party with you!
How can I RSVP?
Go to the 'RSVP' section on the top right corner of this website to confirm your attendance.
When should I arrive?
If your invitation requests your presence at our vow renewal, please arrive by 4:15PM to have time to walk over to the ceremony site. The ceremony will begin promptly at 4:30PM. If your invitation requests your presence at our cocktail hour and reception, please arrive between 5PM and 5:30PM. The bar will open at 5PM, and we will be joining you at 6PM!
What is the dress code?
Fear not, you don't need to dust off your finest attire for our reception. Casual to cocktail attire, and anything in between, is fine with us! However, we do ask that guests not wear blue jeans, shorts, or flip flops. Ladies, please do not wear white!
Can I bring my child/children to this event?
We love your kids but thought you might like a night off. Adults only please!
Can I bring a plus one?
If your invitation specifies that you may bring a guest, we'd be delighted to accommodate your plus one. If your invitation does not specify a guest, we ask that you respect our decision due to venue constraints and other considerations.
Is there an open bar?
Heck yeah! Drinks on Katie's dad, so come ready to party!
I won't be able to make it. Can I still celebrate with you?
We understand that you may have other plans or barriers preventing you from attending our reception. That is totally okay, we love you regardless!
For our Canadian friends and family, we recognize that coming down to the US is a big undertaking. If you are unable to attend for any reason, please know we will also be hosting a dinner in Nova Scotia sometime in 2026 to celebrate! Details to come.
To all our other friends and family, we will talk separately about how we can meet up and celebrate!
