Chris and I first met in 2010. We came across each other on social media and decided to hang out. But alas, God decided it was not our time yet. We drifted apart until 2017 when we ran into each other at a party. I recognized him immediately and when he introduced himself the memories from high school came back. I walked by him without exchanging a greeting in return. The months went on and we continued to run into each other because both of our close friends were dating (now they're married with a baby girl on the way). I kept my distance at first, however, I would whisper to my friends about this major crush I used to have. Finally, I stopped being so stand-off-ish and we began talking. August 8th, 2018 is when Chris asked me to be his girlfriend. Fast forward to 2020 when I decided to make a big move to Arizona. Luckily Chris wanted to make the move with me! August 2021 Chris planned a weekend vacation in Sedona, Arizona. We stayed at a beautiful hotel, walked around the town, and enjoyed the sites/shops. After a long day of exploring and shopping, we went to dinner. The first place we wanted to go to was packed so decided to find somewhere else. It turned out to be the best decision because we had a blast! Once we got back to the hotel, we took a moonlit walk around the surrounding area. We found ourselves in the middle of a beautiful shopping center, ironically setting up for a wedding. When I least expected it, Chris handed me his phone and I was very confused. He was secretly recording my reaction as he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. Me being me I was so overwhelmed with happiness and didn't give a straight answer so he said "I'm assuming that's a yes?". August 21st, 2021 is a day I will always remember. I came to learn that Chris had the ring in his pocket the ENTIRE day just waiting for the perfect moment. I'd say he did an amazing job. I am thankful God brought Chris and me back together for the greatest love we have ever experienced.
