Our story begins in the Summer of 2024.

Matt and Katie met at the Spokane BMX track as Matt coaches and Katies daughter enjoyed a good bike ride. Katie was initially drawn to Matt's enthusiasm for racing and coaching and how well he worked with kids. One day, God put an undeniable affection for Matt on her heart, and as the feeling persisted, she accepted that God was trying to tell her that there was so much more to discover about this charismatic man. She asked him out to coffee and a friendship blossomed and not long after their roots grew deeper. Matt returned her affections through daily conversations about life’s challenges, struggles, victories, and particularly faith and God's hand in their lives. They discovered their common interests and fell in love with what made the other unique. As they grew closer as a couple, they realized all of the miracles God had worked to bring them together and all of the ways their paths had intersected in the past. Indeed, God had a special plan for these two. On Valentine’s Day 2025, after a particularly deep spiritual conversation about destiny, Matt took Katie’s hand and asked, “I want you to marry me. Will you marry me?” And she replied without hesitation, “Of course I will.”
