It all started because two people swiped right. In todays world the way to meet people is through an app and that is what we did. Wes made me laugh through our online interactions and I decided to take a chance and meet him for a date. I never thought I would be meeting my future husband for the first time. Our first date lasted for hours just talking and laughing through Conway trail with my dog Ganon. I asked Wes if he wanted to see the hippie rocks and we made our way to the beautiful painted rocks overlooking the cadron creek. As we chatted I asked Wes if anyone knew where he was and he said no. I then told him I could push you over this and nobody would ever know. He promptly stepped away from the cliff edge laughing. Two things were learned that night. Be safe when meeting a stranger and I want to get to know this man more.

We traveled to Italy in May. One of the top sights we wanted to see was the Trevi fountain in Rome. It is a very popular sight so we decided to go at 5 am in hopes for less people. We made it to the fountain and to our delight there was a handful of people but not many. We had clear access and got to take pictures free of crowds! Wes was acting so weird he kept clutching his backpack like he was afraid someone was going to snatch it and run. What I would soon find out is he was holding the ring and was waiting for the right moment to propose. We walked to the left side of the fountain and Wes pulled the ring out of his bag and got on one knee. Where he would ask me if I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him. My initial response was, “Are you serious?”. Then said yes where we hugged and the rest of the world disappeared. Slow and steady wins the race we have never been in a rush to get married. Over the years we have discussed getting married and Wes remembered things that I would want and he would want in the ideal big question. The biggest part of that being it was just us. It was pure magic. Such a special moment for us to share as we turn to the next chapter in our story.
