Ben and Katlyn visit the Hoover Dam while waiting on our flight back home. We open up to each other about their personal lives and stories in a deeper way and start to see each other in a new light, desiring to get to know each other more.

After a morning of rock climbing together (as friends), Ben and Katlyn visit a HiFi (high fidelity) audio store with our friend Alejandro and our lives are forever changed by the beauty of music. In the car afterwards, Ben accidentally slips and says "May 15th is the day we will tell our grandchildren about. This was the day your grandmother and I discovered HiFi" A little over a week later, while listening to music together, Ben said "I'm gonna marry you one day" and Katlyn said "you better"

Katlyn's hair is blue now, we are on a group hiking/rock climbing trip in Colorado with some friends, and we are totally head over heels for each other.

We visit Big Bend National Park with Katlyn's brother and his friends after having recently recovered from COVID. The loss of taste and smell lasted months for Ben, and it was a very tough time.

Both of our hair is getting longer, Katlyn's hair is black now, and we go to Salado to meet some of Ben's closest friends.

This photo memory timeline is starting to become more like a journey through our different hairstyles - so this one had to make an appearance. Ben and Katlyn went to a Porter Robinson concert, spending most of the concert either crying at how beautiful it was or giving each other light shows with Katlyn's light gloves.

Ben gets down on one knee with the beautiful Alexandrite and Moonstone ring and asks Katlyn to marry him before the midnight Mass on Christmas Eve at Holy Family.

We go on a skiing trip with Etienne (groomsman) and Nicole (bridesmaid)! Ben taught Katlyn how to ski on this trip, and of course many tears were involved. Katlyn celebrated 90 days of recovery on this day, Etienne and Nicole said this vacation was the best one they have ever had, and we got stuck in Colorado for an extra few days because of an ice storm in TX. Definitely a trip to remember and a lot of growth happened on and off the slopes for all of us.

This was around the time Ben started to get into making bread, which was one of the greatest ideas ever. We shared a loaf of bread as our meal of the day on Ash Wednesday, which was supposed to be penitential, but his bread was just too delicious.

Can't leave out the day our beautiful mothers got to meet each other at the engagement shower hosted by Ben's parents.

We celebrate our one-year anniversary by going out to eat at Rise. Ben has beautiful luscious curly locks at this point - but not for much longer

We went to Switzerland for a multi-day music festival! Ben loved the music, but the quaint little villages, beautiful churches, and Swiss alps were calling our name so we ended up ditching the festival to explore.

Took this photo as proof we saw the Eiffel Tower, but the highlight of that day in the city Ben grew up was spending a holy hour at the Sacré-Cœur Basilica at the top of Mont-Martre in Paris.

We started a tradition of getting boba tea in between the ceremony and reception when we go to a wedding (which we also plan to do in between our own ceremony and reception!) shout out to Megan and Nathan on this one ;)

We went hiking in the Sawtooth mountain range in Idaho with a couple of our friends! Idaho remains the most beautiful and diverse place we have visited - but please don't go, really - all they have is potatoes! Nothing to see there!

A woman gave Ben this prayer card and this prayer has accompanied us through so much growth and change in our relationship as we prepared for marriage. If we were choosing our own wedding vows, this is what it would be. We are going to continue to pray this together for the rest of our lives.

After a long process, Ben and Katlyn find out they are finally able to set a wedding date, so their dear friends Richard (groomsman) and Daniella (bridesmaid) Solis take them to Marion Sansom Park for a save-the-date photoshoot. Shoutout to Jenny (bridesmaid), Cole, and Joe Byron for all your help with the annulment process. You mean so much to me.

We took a grueling and amazing week-long backpacking/camping trip in the wilderness areas in Colorado with Jessica (Maid of Honor), Etienne (groomsman), and Nicole (bridesmaid). We had a hard time adjusting back to reality after such an intense experience in the wild.

Ben, Katlyn, Etienne (groomsman), and Nicole (bridesmaid) go on the Three Hearts Pilgrimage, walking 35 miles over two days through rain, blood, sweat, and tears to the Clear Creek Abbey in Hulbert, OK. Katlyn went on the pilgrimage the year before with her friends Daniella (bridesmaid), Sophie (bridesmaid), Kristin, and Kate. Katlyn offered her 2022 pilgrimage up for the annulment to go through so her and Ben could get married and Daniella offered hers up to get pregnant. For the 2023 pilgrimage, Daniella couldn't come because she was (finally!!!) pregnant, and her due date is on the same day as the wedding! Coincidence? I think not! This pilgrimage really helps all to learn the power of prayer, suffering, sacrifice, and humility. We hope to go every year.

Our beloved friend Christopher Leito (groomsmen) hosted a wedding shower for us! Our dear friends Ben and Charlotte Sisko made their first public appearance after the birth of their daughter Eleanor and this is the only photo we had of the evening because Chris confiscated everyone's phone at the door, which we appreciated.

We closed on our beautiful home that we are so excited to share together. Katlyn moved in already to make the house a home and Ben is chomping at the bits to move in and spend his first night there on our wedding day.

The boba wedding tradition continues - shout out to Ryan and Marina!

Katlyn experiences one of the most embarrassing moments of her life when she tries to blow her straw wrapper at Ben and instead it lands in the hair of the woman sitting behind him. Ben captures this moment to always remember the humiliation. We love our little chick-fil-a dinners.
