Q: Are you having a wedding ceremony during the reception?
A: No, we’ll already be married by the time of the reception! We’re planning to have an intimate destination ceremony (basically eloping!), but we wanted to make sure we had the chance to celebrate with all of you closer to home. That’s why we’re hosting this reception in Pennsylvania—so it’s easier for everyone to join us and enjoy the day together without a lot of travel. We’re so excited to see everyone and celebrate with great food, fun activities, and plenty of time to catch up!
Q: What should I wear?
A: This will be a very laid-back day, so feel free to dress casually! Think summer BBQ—light and comfortable clothing. If you plan to enjoy the pool, don’t forget your swimsuit and towel. Seating will be primarily picnic tables, so feel free to bring a camp chair if you wish to have a more comfortable place to sit at!
Q: Are there activities to do during the reception?
A: Absolutely! The pool next to the pavilion will be open, so feel free to take a swim. There are also pickleball courts—bring your paddles if you want to play—and lawn games will be set up for everyone to enjoy.
Q: Do I have to stay the whole time (1-5 PM)?
A: Not at all! You're welcome to stay as long or as little as you'd like. We'll have food, music, and activities going throughout the day. If you can only stop by for a bit, we’d love to see you!
Q: What if I can’t make it?
A: We completely understand! Labor Day weekend can be a busy time, and we know travel is long and expensive. We’re just grateful for anyone who can join us, whether it’s for a little while or the whole day!
Q: Are there plans after the reception?
A: For anyone who wants to stick around after the pool BBQ, we’ll be heading to the Foggy Goggle at the Seven Springs Resort for music, drinks (cash bar), and Labor Day fun.
Q: Where can we stay if we want to spend the night?
A: We recommend searching Airbnb or Vrbo for "Deer Ridge" or "Swiss Mountain" condos—these are within walking distance of the pavilion. Other options include staying at the Seven Springs Resort hotel or more affordable hotels in Donegal or Somerset. Check out the “Travel” section of our website for links to these options.
Q: Are there other things to do in the area?
A: Yes! There’s so much to do in the area, including golfing, shooting clays, wineries, state parks, and more. We’ve included links to local activities in the “Things to Do” section of our website.
