When traveling to the UK you will need a passport and IDR (International Driving Permit) if you plan to rent a car. AAA offers an IDR permit for $20. The ETIAS visa has been postponed until 2026, so you will not need this when planning your trip. Please plan to get the ETA visa to ensure entry into the UK.

The ceremony will be held on Saturday, so guests should be in Edinburgh/Glasgow by Thursday. The drive to Portree is about 4 1/2 hours from the city. Please consider the time zones when booking flights. Most guests will leave back to the States on Sunday.

October is off season, so the cost of travel is half the rate than busier summer seasons. Tickets average about $700-$800 round trip when purchased 6-months in advance. Purchasing flights later risk higher travel rates.

The ceremony will take place outside at the Quiraing. There will be limited parking availability, so we ask guests to carpool from Portree.

The average temperatures in the Isle of Skye range from 46-54 degrees Fahrenheit in October. Pack warm clothes, boots, and a raincoat. It is said that you may experience all four seasons in one day!

Please wear hiking boots/athletic shoes to get to the ceremony and pack heels to change into once at the location. If your dress covers your shoes, then athletic shoes or boots are okay. Please wear a winter coat/puffer. However, during the ceremony there will be brief periods without a jacket for the photos. We will provide umbrellas in case it rains.

Ladies, please wear the color palette below. The color scheme is fall mauve, maroon, olive green, emerald green, champagne formal dresses. Gentlemen, please wear black suits.

We have reserved a private dining space at Skeabost after the wedding ceremony. The dinner reservations are at 6 pm. Please be there by 5:25 pm for photos before the dinner reception.
