Afterwards you can roam around Old Town Manassas, which is very charming day or night!

For history buffs, go learn about two pivotal Civil War battles; the First and Second Battles of Manassas. Aside from historical preservation, the national park also focuses on ecological preservation and is a favorite spot that Katrina and Max like to walk with their boys.

Visit our nation's capitol! All the Smithsonian museums and national monuments are free (or paid for by taxpayers like you, depending on how you see it!). There are also private museums like The Spy Museum that charge a small entrance fee, and tons of great restaurants! Happy to give recommendations!

How to get there: You will need to drive to the closest Metro station, Vienna Metro Station on the Orange line, park (free on weekends), and take the metro to the Smithsonian station (it's a straight shot!).

On weekdays, you can also take the Virginia Railway Express (VRE) from the Manassas train station in Old Town (about a 5 min drive from Max and Katrina), to downtown DC. From there, you can hop on the metro to navigate to the Smithsonian stop or elsewhere around town.
