The day after our first date, restaurants and many other public spaces shut down completely. We found out we'd be working exclusively from home for the foreseeable future.

We discussed our options--we wanted to continue dating, but, with Covid numbers rapidly rising, we wanted to be safe, too. It was uncharted territory.

We decided to continue dating over the phone for the time being. We were so compatible, it was easy to fall quickly into a rhythm while dating during such unprecedented times--daily texts and phone calls to keep in touch, playing Words with Friends on our cell phones to see who could outwit the other, and taking turns finding shows and movies on Netflix to watch "together-apart" while we chatted on the phone.

During our phone dating days, our calls grew longer and more frequent, with our longest calls lasting into the early morning at over six hours long! We used the time apart to deepen our bond and share with each other our values, life goals, and what we each wanted in our partner.

We dated over the phone this way until June, when Covid numbers fell. We finally reunited in person, and things only got better and better from there! We finally had consistent in-person dates to grow our bond even more.

We made our relationship official on June 28, 2020.

Over the remainder of the summer, we introduced each other to our friends and families, who welcomed us warmly, and we've all grown close ever since.
