Brooke and Katy first started talking in February of 2023 on Hinge. In true Katy fashion, she accidentally forgot to respond to Brooke for three days. When she finally responded, Brooke immediately asked Katy on a date.

Their first date was on March 4th, 2023 at Draft Society in Augusta.

Between March and April, the two did a lot of back and forth driving between Vidalia and Augusta for dates.

Brooke asked Katy to be her girlfriend on April 11th, 2023.

On May 6th, Brooke told Katy "I love you" for the first time in her apartment in Vidalia. Katy (thankfully) returned the sentiment.

Brooke and Katy had their first vacation together in Chattanooga (in a sketchy airbnb) on May 20-22. Brooke also took Katy hiking and extended the hike, much to Katy's displeasure.

On May 11th, Brooke met Katy's mom and Harry for the first time. Not long after on August 19th, Brooke was introduced to Katy's dad and stepmom in south Florida. They all loved Brooke immediately.

On September 14th, Katy met Brooke's best friend, Melissa, for the first time. Melissa later told Brooke that she loved Katy for her, and that she had never seen her friend so happy. During that trip, the couple would go on to visit Harry Potter World (where Brooke would become violently ill from a 3D rollercoaster ride), and then take a night-time kayaking tour to watch bioluminescent organisms in the waters off Cape Canaveral (where Katy was certain she was going to die from a shark attack). The trip was certainly a success!

Between September and November the couple would make more trips, traveling to Greenville and North Carolina. One of the most memorable stays, at least in Brooke's mind, was in a quaint little cabin in the middle of nowhere North Carolina, with the best wine in the county.

By November, the couple was happily celebrating Thanksgiving with Katy's family. And later, after nearly a year of back-and-forth travel, Brooke moved in with Katy in Augusta on January 1st, 2024.

On April 11th, Brooke and Katy celebrated a year together by deciding to adopt another sweet pup. Three days later on April 14th, Priscilla was retrieved from a rescue in Statesboro. On the two-hour ride home, Pricilla sat in the passenger seat while Katy sat in the back, which perfectly sums up who Brooke loves the most.

On August 30th, the couple travelled to Helen, GA. Brooke planned to propose on top of a mountain after a hike, but instead she proposed right after walking into the airbnb. Truthfully, she felt she had waited long enough. There was no reason to continue to prolong the proposal when she knew who she wanted for life was standing right there in front of her. Katy said yes, and now they are so excited to continue in this life together and to celebrate their journey with all their loved ones.
