You thought we were having a big wedding?
We did too! As we started planning our wedding, we quickly realized how many people we love, and how much it will cost for a wedding this size. We tried many times to narrow down the guest list, but it was too hard for us to pick and choose. We have decided to have a private elopement (just the two of us) so we can still have a special day, and keep things fair to all of our loved ones. This way, we can put more money towards our future (buying a home & starting a family). We hope you understand this decision, and we love you all.
How can we share a private elopement with our loved ones?
It's still important for us to share our special day with you all. We found a videographer who will capture the day on film. Once we receive the finished video(s) and photography, we will share them on this website under "Photos".
Are we going to have a reception later?
We thought about this option, but the reception is where most of the costs lie. We hope we can purchase a home in the next year, and invite all of our loved ones to celebrate our first year of marriage in our new home. So stay tuned!
Why not just go to the JOP?
This is a great option for many couples. It just didn't feel right for us. We already cancelled the big wedding, but we still wanted something exciting to look forward to.
How are we going to elope?
We found a photographer in Vegas who offers very affordable elopement packages. Then got some cheap plane tickets :)
Why Vegas??
We wanted to go somewhere neither of us had been before. The elopement package we chose is one of the cheapest we found (anywhere). Plus, it's driving distance to a really cool honeymoon spot :)
Are we still going on a honeymoon?
Yes! Luckily, Vegas is only a 2-hour drive from Death Valley National Park. Here we plan on hiking, seeing all of the beautiful desert sunsets/sunrises, and stargazing at night. (Death Valley is a dark sky park) Definitely posting those pictures too!
Do we have a registry?
We do! We made a couple of registries along with a honeymoon fund. Anything towards our future home or honeymoon will be greatly appreciated. https://www.theknot.com/thetalbots2025/registry
