It all started because of Tom Brady!

*just kidding, that part comes later

We met in college at Saint Mary's College of California through some friends. It took many years for Nick to slide into Kaydee's DM's on Instagram. Every once in a while he would comment on her music taste and love for football. Finally, one night in Tahoe, Nick made the ultimate bet that Brady would win the 2021 Superbowl with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Little did he know that this would win him $600 and a wife.

Nick: "If the Buccs win, I am taking you on a date."

Kaydee: "What if they don't win?"

Nick: "Well, let's hope that doesn't happen!"

Our engagement happened at the Eiffel Tower Restaurant in Las Vegas overlooking the Bellagio water fountains! We got all dressed up for an early Valentine's Day celebration. Nick had said he got a "last minute" reservation at a world famous restaurant that usually books up months in advance. Upon arrival at the restaurant, the staff asks for the name for our reservation. Nick responds with his first name and the waitress behind the stand promptly fills in his last name for him...hmmmm...

Cue the dinner where Nick barely eats or drinks a thing (so unlike him). He even comes from the bathroom with a rose at one point having bought it from the bathroom attendant. To add to all of it, a professional photographer specifically asked only us to take pictures in the middle of the restaurant.

When the time actually came, he plopped the ring down on the table before getting on his knee. Kaydee forgot to stand up and had to be reminded to do so.

Nick: "I love you, and I know this has been a long time coming..."

*Kaydee tries to put her hand out for the ring too soon

*Kaydee blacks out and forgets to listen to what Nick is saying

Nick: "Will you marry me?"

Kaydee: "Yes!"

*both sets of parents pop out from behind the restaurant bar to cheer
