We met in middle school. From the very first day at American Heritage, Kayden had a crush on me. I, of course, was completely oblivious—probably too busy talking and being the teachers pet to notice. But Kayden? He noticed me instantly. We spent most of middle school in different circles, barely interacting, but that all changed in eighth grade on a field trip. We started to kind of like each other before, so we ended up sitting next to each other. For the first time, we really talked. Not just about school or friends, but about life—what we wanted, what we dreamed about, the things that made us laugh. That day, something shifted, and before we knew it, we were best friends. From then on, we walked around the schoolyard together, side by side, like it was the most natural thing in the world. Then came the Valentine’s Day dance. Kayden, of course, asked me to go with him, and we had the best time. He made me laugh so hard my cheeks hurt, and it was one of those nights that just felt right. Like we belonged in each other’s lives. And then… there was our first kiss. Or, should I say, Kayden’s attempt at our first kiss. We were standing in the schoolyard, and he leaned in, all confident. I stopped him immediately—Nope, I told him. I wasn’t allowed to kiss anyone until I was sixteen. He smirked, shook his head, and said, “I knew you wouldn’t do it.” That should have been the end of it, but something about the way he said it stuck with me. So, as his bus was about to leave, I ran—full speed—onto the bus, grabbed him by the ears in front of everyone, kissed him, and ran away as fast as I could. Kayden was left sitting there, stunned, probably trying to process what had just happened while the whole bus erupted in shock and cheers. Even after that, we were inseparable. We texted all day and all night, even when Kayden had three phones taken away. He always, always found a way to reach me. Then life happened. We went to different schools, and time put distance between us. But I never forgot about him. I even told my best friend at the time that I would never stop loving Kayden. Because once you love someone, your heart always keeps a little piece of them, no matter what.

How We Met

Our story started with a message on Instagram. He reached out, and I (very seriously) asked if he had his life together. He confidently said yes… which I later learned was a bit of a stretch. Still, I was curious—and a little nervous—so instead of a traditional first date, I brought him to a family event. What I didn’t know was that just hours before, he had crashed his dirt bike. He showed up with broken ribs, a serious concussion, and somehow still a big smile. We spent the day together, including a trip down a water slide (yes, even with broken ribs), and later that evening, we went to the Teton House for my first-ever fancy dinner. Something about that night made everything feel right and we fell right back in love. It wasn’t until much later I found out just how injured he really was… but from that day forward, we’ve been inseparable.

Our First Date

Since that unforgettable first date, life together has been one big adventure. We’ve spent countless weekends camping under the stars, hiking through wild trails, and exploring the mountains on side-by-side rides. Some of our favorite memories are the quiet ones—long truck rides through winding mountain roads, chasing sunsets above the city by the windmills, and getting lost in deep, meaningful conversations that made us feel even more like home to each other. Every adventure, big or small, brought us closer. Whether we were bundled up around a campfire or watching the sky turn pink from the bed of a truck, we always found something magical in simply being together.

Our Adventures 

Pebbles has been part of our story from the very beginning. She came from a tough past—abused and unsure of the world—but with love, she’s truly come to life. We like to think of ourselves as a little pack of pound puppies who found each other. Now she’s thriving, completely spoiled, and has been with us on every adventure—camping, hiking, mountain rides, and quiet nights at home. She’s one of the best things that’s ever happened to us, and we feel so lucky to have her by our side through it all.

These past few years have been one incredible adventure. We’ve faced tough times and celebrated countless joys, overcoming challenges and savoring the good moments along the way. Each step has brought us closer, and we’ve learned to find the beauty in every experience. Now, as we start this new chapter as husband and wife, we’re excited for all the adventures ahead. From building a future family to embracing the unknown, we’re ready to take on everything life has in store. Here’s to the road ahead, full of laughter, growth, and even more unforgettable moments!
