Our Wedding

It all started January 2022 when Jeff and Deanna (Kayla’s Mom and Stepdad) invited over the O’Connells (Pat, Mark and Aaron), along with a few other friends, for a Packers playoff game. Kayla and Aaron exchanged numbers and planned their first date at Ono (sushi for those of you who don’t know) in Kenosha. They continued staying in touch, learning more about their interests and values, eventually making things official the following month. They planned their first vacation together to Springfield, MO July 2022 where they golfed at Payne’s Valley and Top of the Rock, went kayaking and ate dinner at Top of the Rock Restaurant. One month later, they were surprised to discover Kayla was pregnant with Baby AK (Aaron/Kayla)! While unplanned, both knew they eventually wanted children and were in stable points of their lives to become parents. Shortly after their one year anniversary, they welcomed Abel John O’Connell into the world and have been on-the-go ever since! Raising Abel solidified their love and they knew they were destined to be together. Aaron proposed the Saturday before Easter 2025 at Repeal Oak Fired Steakhouse in Louisville, Kentucky. The night was completely unexpected to Kayla, but oh so memorable. The two are looking forward to officially becoming a family and celebrating their love with those closest to them on December 12, 2026!

Kayla is Kayla’s stepsister, or “seester” as they call each other. She lives in Biloxi, MS with her husband, Drew, and beautiful daughter, Madison.  Despite the distance and infrequent visits, Kayla knew instantly she was the only choice for Matron of Honor. Her caring personality, laid-back attitude and constant thoughtfulness throughout their 20+ years as family made this decision a total no-brainer.
