Kayla and Mitch met in the summer of 2011, during a (very nerdy) camp at the Colorado School of Mines. They felt almost instant attachment to each other, and after one failed ferris wheel ride and a lot of free periods exploring the campus, they shared phone numbers and stayed in touch - against all odds.

11 years later, they reconnected while Kayla was living in Phoenix and Mitch was living in Albuquerque. They quickly rekindled what started at camp and moved to Littleton, Colorado together in winter 2023.

Kayla and Mitch have come full circle, both working less than 10 minutes from the campus where they met in Golden.
