Working as a physical therapist at a clinic in Cromwell, CT, it was a rare occurrence for Patrick to treat someone similar in age. Fate would have it that on an October evening in 2020, Kayla wandered in for an evaluation of stubborn calf pain she had been battling for months—pain that would ultimately turn out to be a herniated disc in her back. Over the course of nearly twenty masked treatment sessions, Kayla and Patrick moved beyond small talk and into more meaningful conversation. They bonded over their shared love of dogs (especially Kayla’s husky, Nova), hiking, and working out—and, without quite realizing it at the time, began to look forward to seeing each other for reasons that had little to do with physical therapy. After Kayla was officially discharged, Patrick decided it was time to take a leap—by sliding into Nova’s Instagram DMs and asking her to pass along a message to her mom: an invitation to grab drinks and de-stress from CPA exam studying and the chaos of tax season.The day before Valentine’s day (no pressure), Kayla and Nova met Patrick at the dog-friendly Alvarium Brewery where they enjoyed craft beer, played games, and talked in person without masks for the first time not as physical therapist and patient. Drinks were parlayed into dinner at Eli Cannon’s in Middletown where conversation flowed and laughs were plentiful. Feeling confident after such an effortless first date, Patrick even joked that he “should leave a charger and toothbrush” at Kayla’s apartment.From there, the dates kept coming: hiking through state parks, exploring the Connecticut shoreline, and enjoying nights out in West Hartford Center. But more importantly, their relationship grew through the quiet, everyday moments—supporting one another through demanding work schedules, sharing responsibilities caring for Nova, and standing side by side through Kayla’s eventual back surgery.After spending a year living just a five-minute walk from each other in West Hartford, Patrick and Kayla decided they were ready for their next chapter and moved into their first apartment together. In 2023, Kayla deferred a diamond ring in favor of purchasing their first home in Newington. Nova, of course, was the true winner, receiving the ultimate gift: a fenced-in backyard to patrol and zoom around in.That is, until November 9, 2024, when—under the disguise of a date day in Mystic—Patrick led Kayla to a waterfront mansion on the UConn Avery Point campus and asked her to marry him. Kayla answered with an enthusiastic “yes,” and the celebration continued with family and friends who traveled from near and far to share in the moment.Patrick and Kayla are beyond excited to celebrate their love with the people who mean the most to them at Blithewold Manor on August 21, 2026—and to continue building a life filled with laughter, adventure, and plenty of room for Nova to run.

Hallie is one of Kayla's colleges best friends. They met the first week of school and have been best friends ever since!

Bonded through loss, Bill is the big (and tall) brother that Patrick never had. Bill's daughters Zoie and Sophie lovingly refer to Patrick as "Uncle Patchy"

Madison is also one of Kayla's college best friends. They met in the first semester through other friends and quickly became best friends!

Hannah and Kayla met while working together scooping ice cream. They had so much fun while working together that once they started hanging out outside of work their friendship bloomed!
