Hunter - By Kayla
Hunter enjoys spending time with his family whether it is fun activities or being a grunt for whatever work needs to be done. No matter how good Kayla gets at making eggs, her breakfast will never rival Sunday breakfast at Grandpa Kenny’s and Grandma Nancy’s. Hunter enjoys his time on the water fishing, and he’s retreat week to the woods for deer season. He is also equal opportunity when it comes to taking your quarters when playing sheepshead or any other card game for that matter. He is a great puppy dad to Miley, who loves it when he wrestles with her or when he races her on laps around the house. He is known amongst his own family as well as Kayla’s for his love of potatoes, and a family function cannot be left without the leftover potatoes being sent home in a Tupperware container for Hunter. Hunter has been known to be described as confident (if not overconfident) and can be sarcastic, which doesn’t always lead to great first impressions. But as you get to know him he is caring and loving, putting others before himself. He is always looking for ways to help anyone out, especially if he ever sees an elderly person in need of a hand. Needless to say, he came pre-trained. 😉
Kayla - By Hunter
The fun, loving, always volunteering, Kayla, if you haven’t had the time to greet, meet, or laugh with Kayla, I would greatly recommend it. Kayla is a gentle soul who is always looking to help whether it be at chicken barbeque, make a difference day, or vacation bible school. For those who do not know, Kayla has a master’s degree in civil engineering from Michigan Tech where she met Katie (Bridesmaid), who is always willing to tell fun stories of Kayla. With her degree she began working in Rice Engineering where she met Hunter who she somehow fell in love with. As an engineer, she is great with numbers and has all but volunteered to keep the statistics for the Badger Amateur Baseball Association. She has the greatest mix of brain and heart that anyone could ever imagine. She is now the mom of a beautiful hound named Miley whom everyone adores. There has been a lot of learning from getting her “Mom” voice, to nonstop cuddling, and never forget, the pink eye. But Kayla, like Miley, will never turn down a walk, whether it is be down the old railroad trail, walking the boardwalk in Algoma, or going to the beach and walking along the water. Unfortunately, Miley is not likely going to be able to make it to most of the traveling that young Kayla would like to do. It looks like that duty will have to fall onto Hunter to keep Kayla safe on her walks as she continues to experience the world.

Kayla and Hunter met at Rice Engineering when Hunter started in the group Kayla was in. They didn’t click at first (remember the over-confident and sarcastic comment), but once the masks came off and you could read emotions things got better. Kayla and Hunter studied for the professional engineering exam together for 3 months and that was where they got closer to each other and started dating. While they were dating, they took a trip to St. Louis to see Hunter’s favorite band, Zac Brown Band, as well as a trip to Bermuda.
Hunter proposed as part of Hunter and Kayla’s personal Christmas in 2023, after she had ruined his first plan in fall. Since then they have taken a trip to Gatlinburg and adopted a puppy, Miley, from the Green Bay Humane Society.
We are looking forward to exchanging our vows in front of God and our friends and family. We can’t wait to see you.
