Kayla and Deven met at a birthday party of a mutual friend in August 2022. From then on, they frequently saw each other at church, the young adults group, Bible studies, and friend group hangouts. Many friends commented on how they could see them together, but they always denied it. As years went on, the friendship grew, and even though Kayla had left for college, the friendship remained strong. To no one's surprise, they had chosen one another to be each other's pickleball partner, discovering they played and worked very well together. After going on a few dates in January 2025, as encouraged by friends and family, Kayla and Deven started dating. After 7 months of being inseparable and in love, Deven asked Kayla to marry him on the beach in Outer Banks, where both families and friends were there to celebrate! The Lord has been so evident in their lives and their relationship; they feel so beyond blessed! And now they can't wait to start the next chapter of their life -- as husband and wife!
