A tale as old as time... ye olde Tinder.

What makes this particularly special is that there is NO WAY we should have crossed paths. The algorithm, the universe, whatever you believe, decided we needed to see each other's profile. And we both swiped right.

Kayla saw this handsome man with an impressive beard in cycling spandex. He had a badass chest tattoo exposed and his hair was as long as hers... so she swooned. The spandex made her laugh and figured this guy had to be confident and funny to have that as his profile picture.

Shep saw some long brown hair and went "Oooh pretty girl."

We hit it off right away. Straight to the point of who we are and what we're about and then the BIG item... we both had kids. Suddenly the initial attraction got deeper and we realized just how much we had in common and just how compatible we were.

We were long distance for a while. We developed a strong friendship and appreciation for the time we were able to find to see each other. As our connection grew, we made it official!

Blending our lives was probably the coolest decision we've made. Our kids adore each other and we are one busy household when they're all home.

Renee (Kayla's Daughter) is the oldest, Phoenix (Shep's Daughter) is in the middle and Leviathan (Shep's son) is the youngest.

We work hard to be supportive parents and put our kids first in all our decision making. We're so thankful for our families and for being able to provide an amazing life for our monkeys to grow up in.

You can find us adventuring whenever we can. Sometimes it's a full family outing, sometimes it's just us.

Shep is an incredible cyclist. He loves exploring and riding trails anywhere he can. What's great is he can go ride in all these amazing locations and Kayla is happy to curl up with a good book at a coffee shop or winery and then they connect at the end for date night. It's the perfect team.
