Christian and Kayla met through a mutual friend at the time. Kayla was out with a friend at Kroll’s when Chris showed up with the mutual friend and her boyfriend at the time. Kayla’s friend didn’t know she was going to be there. For the past few months, Kayla’s friend would tell her there is a guy that’s DEFINITELY her type. She was not interested in giving this guy a chance to even meet. They saw Kayla and her friend at the booth. They came over and made Christian sit right next to her. She didn’t want to talk as much. Chris noticed her Lock Screen which was a comic cover of Lore Olympus. It is her favorite comic book! After Chris asked her about it, that sparked them talking for hours and even end up sharing a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup shake. Once Kayla is comfortable, she doesn’t shut up!

After talking for hours, Chris wanted to drive around town. Usually, Kayla knows better than to go in a car with a stranger she barely knows. He was an exception. Surprise, she didn’t end up an episode on one of her favorite murder podcasts. Christian and Kayla drove around listening to music in silence and they enjoyed every second. Chris took her to his best friend’s house, Brandon, where they talked with him. That night, Chris asked Kayla to hang out the next day to bake cookies… Little to her knowledge, he meant premixed cookies to just bake in the oven. Don’t worry, Kayla made him her homemade chocolate chip cookies months later. He never brought the premixed cookies again. Kayla told him, that he’d have to meet her mom. To Kayla’s surprise, he was all for it. He met her the next day and it went well.

After that day, just two days later, Chris surprised Kayla with a birthday dinner at Blue Moose Bar & Grill in Grand Forks, ND. Later that night, he asked her to be his girlfriend. She, of course, said yes! That was the start of a next chapter of their lives. From moving into together, working together, and growing every single day, they worked everyday to become the best version of themselves. They are so excited for this next chapter on their ever-growing story!
