Kayla and Connor’s love story began unexpectedly in the Vetta-verse. In June 2021, Kayla joined an indoor soccer team at Vetta Concord. Little did she know, this would be the start of a life-changing adventure.

On her way to the game, Kayla’s excitement was mixed with nerves. As she sat in traffic, jamming to music with her windows down, she noticed the driver in front of her doing the same. A shared love of music led them to the same parking lot and, ultimately, the same soccer field. There, Kayla met Connor, who admitted to noticing her in traffic.

Their connection deepened during the annual HBC Float Trip. Under the starry sky, they wandered away from the campsite, sharing laughter, dreams, and a growing attraction. Their bond strengthened through hikes with their dogs, Duke, Dean, and Oakley.

On October 3, 2021, Connor surprised Kayla by asking her to be his boyfriend and he her girlfriend (if you know Connor, which most of you do, this was very much his style). Over two years later, they returned to Castlewood State Park, the scene of many happy memories. As they hiked, Connor staged a dramatic rescue for Dean involving fake blood, only to surprise Kayla with a very real proposal.
