In 2019, Kayla and Tyler met on a popular dating app called Hinge. After exchanging messages for a few days, they decided to meet in person for a first date at Condado Tacos. On this date, Tyler walked in and sat down at the table, and Kayla instantly knew he was the one for her. In fact, after their first date, Kayla called her mother to let her know that she had gone on a date with the man that she knew she would one day marry. For the next few months, Kayla and Tyler continued to go on lots of dates and spend time together. Soon Tyler asked Kayla if they were in a relationship, and she responded, “I guess so!” and they made it official!

Shortly after this, things began shutting down due to the COVID Pandemic. With nowhere to go, Kayla and Tyler spent more and more time together. Between working out in the basement, binging Netflix shows, online shopping, and going for walks, they got to know each other very quickly. The Pandemic brought them closer together, as they spent most of the year together, trying to keep busy while the world had temporarily been put on pause.

Once Covid came to an end, Kayla went through some difficulties, and Tyler stood by her, never leaving her side. He did everything he possibly could to be there for Kayla, daily check-ins making sure she was alright, and always remained positive and hopeful that she would soon feel better. When things improved, Kayla and Tyler continued to grow closer together.

Kayla and Tyler both have various hobbies, which they try to share with one another (even though they are quite different). Tyler loves sports, reading manga’s, watching anime, working out, and playing video games. Kayla loves spending time with animals, working out, being in nature, watching Netflix shows, and finding new vegan foods and restaurants. They both try and participate in each other’s hobbies, such as Kayla starting to play some video games and watching anime with Tyler, and Tyler cooking vegan meals and spending time with Kayla’s 3 cats (which are now his as well.)

Kayla and Tyler soon knew that neither one of them could spend their lives apart from each other. On October 12th, 2023, Tyler took Kayla out for a nice dinner at Bar Italia, their favorite spot to eat. Kayla was handed a “special” menu with “new vegan options” in which Kayla read the words, “Will you marry me?” customized into the menu. Tyler got down on one knee, pulled out a ring and asked Kayla to spend the rest of her life with him, and with overwhelming excitement and shock, she immediately jumped up for a hug and said yes!
