Our first Fourth of July weekend together, also the first time Kayla met Colin’s grandparents. We spent the weekend swimming, eating, and lounging at Grand Lake.
We celebrated the last game of the season of Kayla's senior year. No matter the freezing temps and rain we had fun, even though we couldn’t feel our toes when we left the stadium to go eat at the OG hideaway pizza.
Celebrating Kayla receiving her bachelor’s degree in secondary education. Also the first time both of our families met each other.
Went and supported one of Kayla's students in a local play. They were so excited when they saw us there in the crowd. Especially when they got to meet Ms. Freeman's boyfriend.
Our first big family vacation. Went with Colin's parents to Disney and celebrated Thanksgiving with his grandparents in Gainesville. Colin was a good sport and bought ears because Kayla wanted to match.
Every year Kayla and her mom go and see A Christmas Carol at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center. Now Colin gets to join in on the tradition.
Christmas Eve, also the day Colin asked Kayla to marry him by wrapping the ring like a little present.
PS… Kayla’s mom started crying before she even finished unwrapping the box.
Our second New Year’s Eve together. Going to the annual Freeman New Year’s Eve party. Staying up late playing board games.
Colin’s ultimate nerdiness for Star Wars strikes again.
Fun Fact: Colin made Kayla do a Star Wars marathon, because she had never seen them.... for their third date.
Spent the weekend in St.Louis and got burnt to a crisp at an Air Show, where Colin spent the whole time telling Kayla the details of every plane that flew by.
Pre-sunburn, so happy to be there. Little did we know the pain we’d in by the end of the day.
Roadtrip to Dallas, which led to Kayla buying her wedding dress and finding her bridesmaids dresses.
With Colin going to school at night Monday through Thursday, we make sure to do date night as often as we can. Usually Friday nights, even if it’s just going out to dinner.
After moving to Sapulpa, we had to go visit the popular Christmas chute that Sapulpa does along Route 66. Luckily it wasn’t super cold and we were able to stroll slowly and enjoy.
