"Devin and Kayla met in the same place most do in their generation: a dating app. However, their first date almost never happened, as Southwest cancelled Devin's flight home from Christmas a mere 36 hours before they were supposed to meet. He rushed to the airport in the middle of a Detroit snowstorm, determined to get back to Dallas in time to meet the girl that described herself as "tall enough to reach the top shelf".

A day and two flights later, Devin sat in the restaurant that had failed to tell him they were closed, silently embarrassed, as Kayla walked in and truly took his breath away. They sat in the hotel lobby and bonded over their midwestern roots, their mutual love of hockey, and the inability of Texans to drive in any inclement weather.

Devin was hooked immediately by Kayla's honesty, quick wit, and loyalty to the people she cares about. In fact, he was so taken by her that he was somehow able to overlook playful jabs from Kayla after a gut-wrenching Ohio State defeat on New Years Eve. He managed to play it cool over the next few weeks, but balanced that out by essentially planning a prom-posal in asking her to be his girlfriend.

Through many days and evenings filled with Vanderpump Rules, TLT's (if you know, you know), and Katy Trail walks, Devin and Kayla became inseparable friends and partners almost overnight. Sitting on the couch in the in the middle of VPR season five, Kayla blurted out "I love you"!

The whirlwind of 2023 saw them meet each others family all across the country, ranging from an IndyCar race in Indiana, snowy Detroit, to sunny Florida. Both families remarked that their personalities complimented one another extremely well and they could see how happy they made each other. Devin knew he'd marry her when:

A. Kayla hopped on the Lions bandwagon.

But more importantly....

B. He knew the answer to the question "Would Dave Lazor like her?" was yes!

Through the holidays, Kayla began flaunting her empty ring finger in front of Devin, constantly coming up with creative ways to ask if/when he would pop the question. Little did she know, he had her ring hidden in the house and a proposal already planned!

Knowing that her relationships with her friends and family are truly the things she holds closest in life, Devin chose the eve of Kayla's 30th birthday to propose in front of the Vinoy Hotel in St. Petersburg with thirty of her favorite people standing by to celebrate with them. Through many happy tears, Devin told Kayla how lucky he was to have found someone as hard-working, beautiful, strong, and loyal as she is and how thrilled he was to begin building a future with her."

We could not be more excited to celebrate our love and devotion to one another in the city where we have some of our happiest memories together. We can't wait to see all of you there!
