Fly into PDV airport. Newport is about a 30-40 minute drive. The hotel has valet parking if you drive. If you drive AVOID THE WASHINGTON BRIDGE AT ALL COSTS! Use the Pell bridge. Although there’s a toll, it’s safe and will be faster even though the distance is the same. The Washington bridge is literally falling apart and has been for years but it abruptly closed in 2023 and is set to be demolished but that’s been halted to “preserve evidence” due to an ongoing lawsuit filed against 13 companies who worked on the bridge. In the mean time RI is being investigated by the DOJ and the bridge is structurally unsafe.
