It was Thanksgiving 2016- Charlie was back home for a few short days from college at Henderson State and Kayla was swiping through her trusty dating app when MATCHED! flew across her screen. After getting to know each other they decided to stay just friends as neither of them wanted a long distance relationship, but Kayla always kept her sights on Charlie. Flash forward to January 2018- Charlie was (finally!) back in San Antonio! Charlie invited Kayla to a San Antonio Spurs game. She knew that this wouldn't be a date, but she was going to try and make it a date! Lucky for her, fate was on her side! Right before halftime, the classic Kiss Cam started going around the stadium. As they were looking up at the screen they notice their faces were the in the spotlight! They kissed and Kayla had never been happier. After the game ended, Charlie dropped Kayla off at her car and both were on cloud nine. As Kayla drove away, she got a text from Charlie that read "I wanted to kiss you all night long but I didn't know the right timing. I guess I have to thank the Kiss Cam for the assist!" And as they say, the rest is history.

How They Met

The Best Day Ever!

Charlie had picked the perfect day. He found a Jeweler in their hometown that was going to create his custom ring he designed. Just when everything was coming together, a global pandemic hit and shook up all of his plans. Kayla and Charlie were quarantined together during the pandemic which made planning an engagement that much harder. Luckily for Charlie, Kayla liked to sleep in so most planning was done before she even started her day! Charlie knew that even if all the odds were against him, he wanted to still try and propose on the day he always planned. This meant finding a new Jeweler, this time in California. He was SO nervous to send the stone across the country, but it was his only shot to making the day perfect for Kayla. The ring arrived just days before Proposal day and now he had to lay down the ground work to get Kayla out of the house! Restaurants had opened earlier in the month and Kayla expressed that she was ready to finally have her first date night post quarantine. Charlie told her he would pick the restaurant and take care of everything. He took her to the Elian and she was so excited because she knew that meant they were having Piatti's (one of her favorite places!) As they were walking to the restaurant, Kayla noticed two photographers off to the side and before she knew it Charlie was down on one knee, asking her to spend forever with him! She couldn't say yes fast enough. He had both sides of family there ready to celebrate with them and Kayla was so surprised he planned everything without her knowing. She may not have gotten her date night dinner, but she left with something so much more special!

How He Asked

Rebecca and Kayla met back in 7th grade and have been inseparable ever since. They quickly became best friends, family and soulmates. Kayla has always been so grateful for all the love and support Rebecca has given her over the years. She can't wait to have her stand by her on the biggest day of her life!

Michelle and Kayla met though their sorority in college. Almost instantly Kayla was drawn to Michelle and they became besties in no time! Kayla has always played the role of third wheel in Michelle's relationship and feels so lucky to have such an inspiring marriage to look up to. Shelly and Kay Kay forever!!

Luckenbach, Texas is 14 miles from Fredericksburg and is a must stop while visiting! This two-building town only has a dance hall and the combination bar and general store. It draws people from across the country and around the world to drink beer underneath the oak trees and listen to country music in the memorabilia-studded bar.
