Our Wedding

Friday, August 5th, 2016. Eric and I were set up on a blind date via an online dating site. Little did we know that day would change our lives forever. I was working for Lubbock County after graduating from Texas Tech a few months prior and Eric was attending Texas Tech in pursuit of his Master’s in Geology. We met for the first time at Meadow Brook golf course in Lubbock, Texas, where in true Kayla fashion I ran about 20 minutes late due to work. Thankfully, he didn’t bail on me and it’s safe to say that we had the most fun round of golf in our entire lives. Fast forward a few months later. I knew Eric was special as he become my best friend so quickly. Somewhere between multiple rounds of golf, picnics at the arboretum, and Thai dinner dates, he became my favorite human. Eric came into my life at the most unexpected time and answered one of my biggest prayers. I am forever thankful that God allowed our paths to cross.

Kayla's Story

I moved to Lubbock, TX in 2015 to pursue a masters degree. By the time I finished my program, I had gained so much more. A best friend, a life partner... And then I met Kayla.(Ok I was talking about her the whole time) I won’t bore you with too many details about how Kayla enriches my life on a daily basis, but I will list a few: back rubs before bed, decorating our house, adopting fluffy cats when I go on vacation…. Yeah, that stuff rocks. It’s now been almost five years since we met at that golf course, but it feels like it was yesterday. Time flies when you’re having a good time…

Many vacation rental homes are available in the New Braunfels area, if you'll be traveling with a large group. Feel free to reach out to Eric/Kayla for suggestions!

It will be a busy weekend in the Austin/San Antonio metro area. There are multiple world-class events going on over the weeknd. Hotels and rental cars are getting booked up quick, do not wait to make travel arrangements. Contact Eric/Kayla with questions or if you'd like to connect with other guests to ride-share. We will unfortunately be unable to provide transportation to/from the wedding venue. It will be a short Uber ride from hotels in the New Braunfels area, or a longer Uber ride to/from San Antonio or Austin.

Gruene 

NCAA Basketball Tournament South Region (San Antonio) will be playing the Sweet 16 on Thursday and the Elite 8 on Saturday.(How nice of them to take Friday off)
