We can't wait to see everyone on the island! There are a few different ways to travel to Nantucket, pending personal travel preferences.
Below you will find information on travel options to the island, transportation options while on-island, and accommodation recommendations. As always, please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions!
The Steamship Authority offers two types of ferry boats from
Hyannis to Nantucket:
1) Passenger-only fast ferry
2) Vehicle-transport slow ferry if you wish to bring your vehicle on the island (please note: the fee to bring your vehicle is approximately $250/each way, and is subject to change or increase pending the date of travel)
Reservations are required for all ferry services, and can be reserved on the Steamship Authority's website beginning January 18, 2022 at 5:00AM EST.
Nantucket Memorial Airport is located on the south side of the island of Nantucket, three miles southeast of the town center.
Uber and Lyft are both offered on the island, however at times may be sporadic or with longer than usual wait times.
Additionally, there are many taxi companies who accept reservations in advance, and also on standby. Please reference the latest listing of taxi companies here: https://www.nantucket-ma.gov/DocumentCenter/View/15805/2017-TAXI-LIST-FOR-WEBSITE?bidId=
Lastly, there are three auto rental companies that operate from inside the Airport Terminal if you wish to rent a car on the island. Rental car counters are located adjacent to Crosswinds restaurant, at the South end of the terminal, and include:
Hertz 1-800-654-3131
Nantucket Island Rent-a-Car 1-800-508-9972
Nantucket Windmill Auto 1-800-228-1227
As Nantucket is known for their boutique hotels and intimate inns, they unfortunately do not offer wedding room blocks due to high demand. We have included some recommendations below located in town, and walking distance to the most popular destinations (and with close proximity to our wedding venue)! These are just a few of our favorites, there are plenty of additional options on the island in addition to VRBO + Airbnb rental options as well.
Hotels on Nantucket tend to open for booking anywhere from 6-10 months in advance of the island’s busy Spring / Summer seasons. Please feel free to contact your hotel of choice directly, as they will be able to assist over the phone and let you know when available to book (we’ve found that calling the hotel directly for assistance is best as each hotel is truly on their own schedule). We do recommend contacting the hotel as soon as possible to verify and ensure accommodations.
Another thing to note: it is common for some of the hotel sites to say they are fully booked or “sold out” on their reservations page when booking in advance of the 2022 Spring/Summer season. Sometimes this just means the hotels aren’t available to book as of yet for the 2022 Spring/Summer season, and we still recommend calling the hotel directly to confirm. Feel free to reach out to us with any questions as we are happy to help, and have spoken with each hotel below directly and can advise where possible.
