Matthew grew up in Blaine, Tennessee, right outside of Knoxville. He currently works in web design. Matthew is quiet and reserved, making him the perfect counter to Kayla's more outgoing attitude. A proud graduate of the University of Tennessee, he enjoys all things Volunteer-related, whether it be football, baseball, or basketball.

Kayla grew up in Whitwell, Tennessee, a small city outside of Chattanooga. She works as an attorney in Downtown Knoxville. Matthew can attest to her ability to argue. She can be found enjoying the slower things in life, whether that be taking a nap, lounging in the hammock, or walking the pups in the evening at their local park.

Zoey is Kayla's first born. Kayla adopted Zoey as the world shut down in 2020, which gave them plenty of time to get to know each other and work out the kinks. During the first week with Zoey, Zoey managed to break Kayla's laptop screen, bring a baby bird onto Kayla's bed, and escape the house to chase a rabbit throughout the neighborhood. However, all these years later, she is still the best girl anyone could ask for.

Kayla and Matthew adopted Echo from the Morristown Humane Society in April 2023. He was only a 9 week-old pup that someone had dumped in a plastic container with his 5 other siblings. (Fun fact: Matthew's brother, Jeremy, actually adopted one of Echo's sisters!) Although he is shy, Echo is the sweetest boy around and loves nothing more than taking a nap with his humans or playing (and almost always losing) tug-o-war with his sister.
