<p>In&nbsp;September&nbsp;of&nbsp;2016,&nbsp;Spencer&nbsp;and&nbsp;Kayla&nbsp;both&nbsp;started&nbsp;their&nbsp;first&nbsp;quarter&nbsp;of&nbsp;college&nbsp;at&nbsp;Spokane&nbsp;Falls&nbsp;Community&nbsp;College.&nbsp;They&nbsp;met&nbsp;in&nbsp;Dr.&nbsp;Roths&nbsp;Photography&nbsp;101&nbsp;class.&nbsp;That&nbsp;was&nbsp;the&nbsp;only&nbsp;class&nbsp;they&nbsp;had&nbsp;together,&nbsp;but&nbsp;Kayla&nbsp;and&nbsp;Spencer&nbsp;kept&nbsp;in&nbsp;contact&nbsp;and&nbsp;talked&nbsp;a&nbsp;lot&nbsp;for&nbsp;2&nbsp;years.&nbsp;On&nbsp;July&nbsp;4th,&nbsp;2018,&nbsp;they&nbsp;officially&nbsp;started&nbsp;dating,&nbsp;and&nbsp;Spencer&nbsp;invited&nbsp;Kayla&nbsp;on&nbsp;his&nbsp;family&nbsp;and&nbsp;friends'&nbsp;annual&nbsp;week&nbsp;long&nbsp;camping&nbsp;trip.<br>&nbsp;About&nbsp;5.5&nbsp;years&nbsp;later,&nbsp;on&nbsp;December&nbsp;22nd,&nbsp;2023,&nbsp;Spencer&nbsp;had&nbsp;an&nbsp;early&nbsp;Christmas&nbsp;present&nbsp;for&nbsp;Kayla.&nbsp;Years&nbsp;before,&nbsp;on&nbsp;their&nbsp;first&nbsp;anniversary,&nbsp;Kayla&nbsp;had&nbsp;made&nbsp;a&nbsp;scrap&nbsp;book&nbsp;with&nbsp;stories&nbsp;and&nbsp;pictures&nbsp;of&nbsp;their&nbsp;first&nbsp;year&nbsp;together&nbsp;and&nbsp;always&nbsp;intended&nbsp;to&nbsp;add&nbsp;to&nbsp;it,&nbsp;so&nbsp;Spencer&nbsp;dug&nbsp;it&nbsp;out&nbsp;and&nbsp;did&nbsp;just&nbsp;that,&nbsp;until&nbsp;he&nbsp;ran&nbsp;out&nbsp;of&nbsp;pages.&nbsp;Spencer&nbsp;had&nbsp;Kayla&nbsp;close&nbsp;her&nbsp;eyes&nbsp;and&nbsp;come&nbsp;sit&nbsp;at&nbsp;the&nbsp;dining&nbsp;room&nbsp;table&nbsp;in&nbsp;their&nbsp;apartment&nbsp;together.&nbsp;When&nbsp;she&nbsp;opened&nbsp;her&nbsp;eyes,&nbsp;the&nbsp;book&nbsp;was&nbsp;there.&nbsp;They&nbsp;looked&nbsp;through&nbsp;the&nbsp;whole&nbsp;book&nbsp;beginning&nbsp;to&nbsp;end.&nbsp;He&nbsp;wrote&nbsp;on&nbsp;the&nbsp;last&nbsp;page&nbsp;about&nbsp;how&nbsp;he&nbsp;didn't&nbsp;want&nbsp;to&nbsp;fill&nbsp;any&nbsp;more&nbsp;pages&nbsp;of&nbsp;his&nbsp;life&nbsp;without&nbsp;her&nbsp;and,&nbsp;on&nbsp;the&nbsp;last&nbsp;line,&nbsp;asked&nbsp;her&nbsp;to&nbsp;marry&nbsp;him.&nbsp;When&nbsp;she&nbsp;read&nbsp;it&nbsp;aloud,&nbsp;she&nbsp;turned&nbsp;around&nbsp;to&nbsp;where&nbsp;Spencer&nbsp;had&nbsp;been&nbsp;standing,&nbsp;Spencer&nbsp;was&nbsp;now&nbsp;down&nbsp;on&nbsp;one&nbsp;knee&nbsp;with&nbsp;an&nbsp;engagement&nbsp;ring.&nbsp;They&nbsp;announced&nbsp;it&nbsp;later&nbsp;that&nbsp;night&nbsp;at&nbsp;a&nbsp;Christmas&nbsp;party&nbsp;with&nbsp;all&nbsp;their&nbsp;friends,&nbsp;then&nbsp;to&nbsp;the&nbsp;rest&nbsp;of&nbsp;the&nbsp;family&nbsp;on&nbsp;Christmas&nbsp;Eve.</p>

Kayla and Mariah met in high-school and just clicked. They became best friends fast. After Kayla found Spencer she brought Mariah into Spencer's friend group and she became close with Spencer too. It is now a joke that Mariah and Spencer are long lost twins, as they have many similarities.

Kayla and Maddie met on the first day of kindergarten. Maddie was crying because her parents had to leave. Kayla quickly came to comfort her and tell her they will be back and she would be Maddies friend. 20 years later they are still best friends.

Kayla and Laticia met on the last day of middle school. Laticia had recently moved 4 houses down the block from Kayla. On that day Kayla happened to forget her house Keys and remembered seeing Laticia walking home to that house before and decided to go ask to use a phone to call her mom to tell her she was locked out. Laticias mom offered to let Kayla stay there till her mom got home. They spent the rest of the day getting to know each other, hanging out on the trampoline in the backyard. They spent almost every day of the summer together after that and became best friends. 

Laticia Grittner 

Amanda has known Spencer since 1st grade and is the twin sister of Brandon (groomsmen).  Because of this, Amanda has always been one of Spencer's closest friends. Before Spencer and Kayla were even officially dating, Spencer brought Kayla to his 19th birthday party, where she met the Foster twins for the first time. After this, Kayla and Amanda became friends. Amanda has always been there along the way, from the annual camping trips at Priest Lake, girls' nights, and karaoke parties in the Fosters' family basement. It was here at the Fosters' karaoke Christmas party that Spencer and Kayla announced their engagement!

Kayla met Amanda while attending SFCCs Photography program. They quickly became very close friends. They learned they worked well together and assisted each other on photoshoots and film sets as much as they could. They stayed close after graduation, and despite the now long distance friendship from Spokane to Birmingham, Alabama, where Amanda now lives, they see each other at least once a year.

Kayla and Sydney met their first quarter attending SFCCs Photography program. They were close through all of the program. Sydney encouraged Kayla to keep talking to Spencer until he finally asked her to be his girlfriend.

Sam is Spencer's older brother by 2 years. Spencer's oldest memory of Sam is when he was roughly two years old Sam taught Spencer how to climb out of his crib so he wouldn't have to wait for mom. To this day Sam and Spencer are still doing things together to make moms hair gray.

In the first grade Spencer watched Jerry Joe shoot pink milk out of his nose because another kid made him laugh too hard. Spencer thought this was really funny and they have been friends ever since.

Jerry Joe Gepford

Brandon is Spencer's wingman while skiing. One year while at silver mountain Spencer and Brandon found themselves in the back of a snow cat going up wardner peak. The cat was full of ski patrol, and veteran skiers. At the top they were told it was the first public cat ride to the top of wardner peak. Somewhere there exists a group photo of a bunch of professional skiers and two kids who didn't really know where they were.

Brandon Foster

Spencer's older brother Sam became close friends with Dillon's older brother Chandler in elementary school. This led to Dillon and Spencer becoming fast friends. They would routinely argue with Sam and Chandler over who's turn it was to use the xbox. Spencer and Dillon often lost this battle.

Dillon Simmons 

Kalan is one of Kaylas older brothers. Kayla, Kalan, and their dad, Kevin, hang out once a week for game night. Spencer became fast friends with Kalan when he started dating Kayla and coming to game nights. Now Spencer and Kayla host game nights at their apartment once a week with Kalan and Kevin. Spencer and Kayla now have to argue over who is closer to Kalan.

Kalan Marr

In the first grade, Spencer and Scott got into an argument about whether killer whales/Orcas were called orcas or killer whales. It is still inconclusive to this day. They still argue about inconsequential things to this day. They are best friends. 
They ended up on the swim team together and added Arseniy, making them a trio. They went on to visit Europe together. 

Scott Nadeau

Spencer and Scott met Arseniy on the swim team, and the three quickly became a dynamic trio who would go on to visit eight different countries throughout europe together. 
Arseniy finds joy in buying Spencer and Kayla way too much groceries when he visits. Specifically, he finds the biggest package he can of things like steak, bacon, ribs, cheese, butter, ect. and brings it to them. Spencer and Kayla are honored but still have so much cheese...

Adam was the new kid in second grade and Spencer at the time told his parents he had no friends even though other stories in this lineup have proven this untrue. Their teacher suggested to Spencer's parents that he should be friends with Adam since he was the new kid and had a nice family. Spencer's parents arranged for them to go to Laser quest and the rest is history.

In the first grade Cade made a kid laugh so hard he shot pink milk out of his nose. Spencer saw this and thought it was really funny. They have been friends ever since.

Cade McCallister 

Michael is one of Kayla's older brothers. When Spencer and Kayla were thinking of who to ask to officiate, they knew they wanted someone who knew them both well and had been married themselves for a long time. Michael stood out as the right answer. Obviously, he knew Kayla since birth, but he bonded fast with Spencer through skiing and camping trips. He also has been married to his wife Rebecca since 2014, and they have 2 daughters (the flower girls). Kayla and Spencer both have always admired Michael's ability to find something he wants to do or try and learn how to do it, not letting anything hold him back. He taught himself to drive stick, ski, hunt, fish, rock climb, and how to do carpentry, among lots of other things. When they asked him to officiate, he said, "I've never done it before, but it would be fun to try!"

Autumn&nbsp;and&nbsp;Violet&nbsp;are&nbsp;Kayla's&nbsp;Neices.&nbsp;Autumn&nbsp;is&nbsp;the&nbsp;wild&nbsp;child&nbsp;social&nbsp;butterfly,&nbsp;and&nbsp;Violet&nbsp;is&nbsp;the&nbsp;sweet&nbsp;and&nbsp;funny&nbsp;little&nbsp;diva.&nbsp;Auntie&nbsp;Kayla&nbsp;may&nbsp;be&nbsp;fun,&nbsp;but&nbsp;Uncle&nbsp;Spencer&nbsp;is&nbsp;the&nbsp;silliest!&nbsp;And&nbsp;nothing&nbsp;can&nbsp;compare&nbsp;to&nbsp;that.

Aiden is Jerry Joe Gepford’s son with Kaylee Wright, which makes him Spencer and Kayla's honorary nephew. Spencer only hopes he can one day make Aiden laugh so hard that he shoots pink milk out of his nose.

Priest Lake in Idaho is one of Spencer and Kaylas most favorite places to go. If you're in the mood of a drive and have the time, it's one of the coolest places to see in the area.

The heart of downtown Spokane Riverfront Park is beautiful place to visit with lots to do like vist the carousel, skyride gondola, Pavillion, clock tower, Spokane falls view point, Red wagon, Rotary Fountain, and the famous garbage goat.

A great place to go on a walk or have a picnic ESPECIALLY in fall is the John A. Finch Arboretum is located on 65 acres of wooded hills. The Arboretum is a botanical collection of trees and woody plants that have been labeled for field study. The collection has been planted along the Garden Springs Creek and contains a wide variety of native and cultivated plant material compatible with growing conditions in Spokane.
