We welcome you to share one of the most memorable and intimate days of our lives!
It was about 12 noon on Monday, April 10, 2017 that Kayla's mom sent her to the corner convenience store (Circle K) to get a bag of ice. They were preparing to go on their annual Spring Break trip with the kids. Kayla didn't necessarily feel like going to the store but she remembered that she had to vaccuum out her car before getting on the road anyway so reluctantly....she went. After leaving out of the convenience store and going back to her car, she heard a mild tone "Excuse Me". She turned around and was completely mesmerized by this... chocolate, ..bald-headed,... handsome, beautiful smile parked in a cream Escalade (She was thinking "Sheesshh" but she kept her composure with her game face ON.) It was Raymond Gibbs Jr. but he introduced himself to her as "Ray". The two of them got acquainted with one another, talked, laughed, exchanged numbers and left the convenience store. 20 minutes later, Raymond was already calling Kayla!
YES-20 MINUTES LATER!! ; )
While Kayla was on her family trip, the two of them texted, called and flirted back and forth. Kayla eventually took the initiative in setting up a date when she got back in Columbia but Raymond decided on the location to meet. They met and had their first date at Books A Million in Village at Sandhills-Columbia. Personally thinking Raymond picked a place where he didn't have to pay for anything ; ) but...Kayla didn't even mind . ( Bless her heart Smh) Within a week they had already gone on their 2nd date followed by their 3rd date which was on Saturday, April 22, 2017. Raymond's sense of humor kept Kayla smiling and giggling and the both of them quickly falling for each other. Although Kayla lived in Rock Hill, SC and Raymond lived in Columbia, SC they were persistent with traveling a 45 minute drive just to see each other to spend time together.
As much as they tried to keep their hearts from beating for one another, God had a much more desirable plan and the two have been inseparable ever since! <3
