Our Wedding

Our story begins in 2018 during my freshman year at Indiana University of Pennsylvania when I volunteered for a tour led by Claire, a good friend of Kayla's. In the middle of the tour, Claire recommended that I apply to be a tour guide at IUP and gave me the details for their next meeting. However, Claire knew she wouldn't be there for my interview, so she asked Kayla, another tour guide, to keep their eyes on me. Suffice to say, the first time I met Kayla, I was incredibly nervous! Luckily, in spite of my nerves, I did well enough to earn the tour guide position, and Kayla and I spent the next two years conducting tours together and bonding over our shared love of theater. Then, COVID happened, and we had to resort to FaceTiming each other to keep in touch. Strangely enough, this time of isolation brought us closer than ever, and when it was time to move back to IUP for the Fall 2020 semester, I asked to help her move in to her apartment. After not seeing each other for over five months, she ran into my arms on her doorstep and said, "Don't let go." I had a feeling that I never would. One week later, we revealed that we "kind of liked each other a little bit." Two weeks later, on September 12, 2020, I asked her to be my girlfriend. And after three years of dating, on December 16, 2023, I asked her to marry me. We can't wait to celebrate July 19th with all of you!
