Our story began at Texas Tech University in 2016, on Kayla’s very first day of classes. Fate sat us next to each other in a statistics class—two strangers whose lives were about to become forever intertwined. A couple of years later, our paths crossed again when Daniel’s fraternity and Kayla’s service organization were paired as homecoming partners. That reconnection sparked a friendship that slowly grew into something more.

After months of getting to know each other, we officially began dating on September 1st, 2018. Since then, our journey has been filled with love, laughter, and countless milestones. Weve graduated college, navigated long-distance, moved into our first apartment—and later our first home—together, adopted the sweetest cat, explored new places, and shared unforgettable moments along the way.

Then, on August 3rd, 2024, in a quiet, secluded cove on Lake Lavon, Daniel got down on one knee and asked Kayla to spend forever with him. It was just the two of us, surrounded by nature and love, marking the beginning of our next chapter.

Looking back, it’s hard to believe how far we’ve come since 2018. The people we were then could’ve never imagined the life we’d build together, and yet, here we are—grateful, joyful, and more in love than ever. We can’t wait to see what the future holds and to continue writing this beautiful story, side by side.
