Kayla and Josh met at Kaylas older brothers wedding fall of 2021. At the wedding he was surprised by Kaylas age and maturity, and made her laugh. Kayla messaged him via Facebook when he popped up as a mutual friend a few days later. After multiple back and forth messages, they found they had a lot in common and Josh asked Kayla out.
Their first date was at Arepa Culture and was supposed to be ice skating at the Red Hat, however they ended up bowling instead!


Kayla said I love you first, spring of 2022, followed shortly by Josh!


They moved in together fall of 2023.


While in Italy (on the last day), spring of 2024, Josh proposed. He had carried the ring around a large portion of the trip anticipating proposal but the colosseum was too crowded, the gazebo in the Borghese garden was too small... This all was after Josh was food poisoned and had his wallet stollen--which of course he used in the proposal (in sickness and in health, for richer or poorer).
