While they both attended Trinity College, Kayla and Kevin actually first met on a spring break trip to the Dominican Republic! They became quick friends while enjoying the sun, ocean, and many rum-filled drinks at the pool bar. Once they got back to campus, Kevin was persistent in wanting to see more of Kayla. She gave in to his requests and the pair were soon inseparable. They share many memories from their college days at Camp Trin!

Kayla and Kevin both share a love for exploring new places, trying new food (Kevin, especially), learning about culture, and shopping. Their passion for travel brought them on many adventures abroad, particularly places that Kayla could find cheap flights to! Over their time together, Kayla and Kevin have traveled to Egypt, Jamaica, Indonesia, Greece, Albania, Ireland, Costa Rica, and around the U.S. They made countless memories along the way including four-wheeling through Mount Sinai at sunrise, getting scammed by Balinese police, exploring Kevin’s homeland with his mom and sister, drinking Guinness in a Donegal pub with the O’Connor clan, eating termites in the Costa Rican rainforest with best friends, and snorkeling next to rainbow fish in the Red Sea. The serendipitous nature of travel pushed Kayla and Kevin out of their comfort zones and closer together. They learned how to trust and take care of one another; together, they always felt at home.

While Kayla and Kevin still travel when they can, they have spent recent years planting roots. In the fall of 2020, Kayla and Kevin purchased their first home together! They live in Kevin’s hometown of Wethersfield, CT with their baby chocolate lab, Koda (who’s now 3.5 years old!). While Kayla was reluctant to give up her status as a Massachusetts resident, Kevin persuaded her with the best local food spots- Chimirri’s is now number 1 on her list of best cannoli. You can catch them walking Koda around the neighborhood, enjoying a summer sunset from the cove, or drinking espresso martinis at Vito's.

One of Kevin’s best qualities is that he can’t keep a secret from Kayla, including the ring- but kept the when and where a surprise! Kevin planned a relaxing weekend in Newport, RI for Kayla’s birthday. He carried the ring around in his pocket all weekend, waiting for the perfect moment, which came along the beautiful cliffside coast. The easiest “yes”! Best birthday present ever!

Early on the morning of October 10th, 2021, Kayla, Kevin, Gigi, Lala (photographer), and officiant (who they had called just 2 days prior!), walked over fallen leaves to the perfect spot overlooking the river at Lover’s Leap State Park. The couple said private vows in the forest, exchanged necklaces charmed with seashells from their travels, popped champagne, and shared a first dance to You by Dan & Shay. They surprised their immediate family with the news of their marriage on Christmas Day- and they live to tell the tale!

Kayla and Kevin are finally planning a wedding and cannot wait to celebrate with you!! They will partake in a full wedding ceremony, during which they will exchange rings for the first time and share wedding vows before their closest friends and family.
