On January 9th, 2023, Kayla and Caleb attended orientation for the Clinical Psychology program in which they would pursue their master's degrees. Little did they know, they were also meeting their future spouse. Kayla, being the extrovert she is, immediately connected with Caleb after overhearing him state he was a server. Kayla was so relieved to meet someone who could relate to the struggle of serving that she had to interrupt to state her identical vocation.

The interaction was short, but it was enough to spark a friendship. They continued to bond through their intense program where they were challenged to be vulnerable with one another. The more Kayla and Caleb got to know each other, the stronger their bond grew.

Come 4th of July, 2023, Kayla invited Caleb to a small gathering she was having that evening. Truth be told, she didn't expect him to come given his introverted nature and the intimidating event with her and her closest friends. But, he came! Not only that, but he held her hand while watching the fireworks that night. Kayla was completely taken off guard, but she didn't pull away...

The next day, Caleb took Kayla to Corona del Mar to enjoy some pizza on the beach. As he was driving her home on PCH, he decided he wasn't ready for the evening to end and asked her if he should keep driving straight. The couple ended up engaging in one of Kayla's favorite hobbies, trespassing. The two of them explored The Rotunda at Pelican Hill before they were caught, and later discovered what a popular wedding venue that is.

July 5th was the best date either of them had ever been on and was the beginning of their love story. The following months involved many study dates and adventures, where the couple continued to fall in love.

They later admitted their love for each other that October, being completely unaware that they would be bride and groom a year later.

Flashforward to May 9, 2024, Caleb proposed on a gondola with a letter in a bottle, and Kayla said yes!! The happy couple are now planning on eloping soon!
