Charlie and I first met after my friend Kelsey and I had gone to a Spirit game at the Dow Event Center. We decided afterwards we weren't quite ready for the night to end so we walked over to Bourbon and Co. (which is now closed) to have a few drinks.

We were sitting at the bar and she noticed I kept looking past her at someone down the bar.

- She turned, looked, and said "he's cute!"

- I then said, "yea, but he's probably gay. Look at him dressed in tight red pants, a tight button down shirt to show off his muscles, and his hair is all perfectly done."

- Kelsey says, "probably, but when have you ever been afraid to go talk to someone, go say hi."

So, I got up out of my chair and was about to walk over to him when a big group of guys walked into the bar headed straight for him. I quickly turned around and sat right back down at the bar.

As the night went on, Kelsey noticed I could not stop looking over at him and that he and I were making eye contact more than once.

She said "do you want me to go see if he is gay?"

I said "sure, go for it!"

In true Kelsey fashion, she got up went right over there and a few minutes later he was getting up to come say hello to me.

Charlie and I chatted the remainder of the night. I was getting ready to leave and he said:

"I live 3 floors up"

I said, "that's great, I work tomorrow. Give me your phone and I'll give you my number."

I waited as long as I could that night after I got home and after not hearing from him I decided to tell him how great it was to meet him.

From that night on, the rest is history. Who knew, two people who weren't looking for anything would find their happily ever after, in a bar.
