Evan and Kayla met in 2016, both working at a restaurant. Evan loves to tell the story because he was a server and Kayla was his manager.
Kayla had previously stopped dating and was ready to get back into it. Evan offered his assistance with setting up her online profile and giving her tips. Evan was dating and did not want anything serious so Kayla would give him advice on how to let other girls down easily. During this developing friendship, their interactions began to fill with jokes and laughter.
Evan would repeatedly ask Kayla out but because they worked together, and she was his manager, she would always decline. One day Evan said that “if we match online, then you have to go out with me” and Kayla agreed. As fate would have it, they eventually matched, and Evan asked one more time while saying this would be the last time I ask. Kayla agreed and they finally went on their first date. From there they started to spend almost every day together.
As their love blossomed, Evan & Kayla decided to move into an apartment together and Evan became Marley’s new Dad. This was the second time he had had his heart stolen but this time it was by a 5-pound Pomeranian. The three of them created many memories while living there. They would go on hikes, travel together, start new jobs, and, eventually, buy their first home where they would add a new addition to the family, a Heeler named Whidbey.
One Christmas while in their new home, Evan decided to surprise Kayla with the trip of a lifetime to Costa Rica. This, inevitably, is where he would nervously propose to Kayla. Evan had secretly planned with the receptionist to take pictures of this special moment. They had just finished breakfast while gazing out at the Arenal Volcano in the distance. Evan knew this was the perfect moment to make the most significant proposal of his life. Despite five years of love and togetherness, his heart still raced with nerves as he got down on one knee, and asked Kayla to marry him. The receptionist captured the moment as they stood against the backdrop of the volcano, forever preserving the pure happiness in Kayla's eyes when she said, "Yes!"
With a newfound excitement, Evan and Kayla wasted no time in planning their dream wedding. They have decided to celebrate their love at Mount Princeton Hot Springs in Nathrop, Colorado. Surrounded by the beauty of nature and their loved ones, they will exchange their vows on July 13, 2024.
