Our Wedding

Matt & Kayla's Love Story

Matt and Kayla met in Winona, MN while attending Winona State University. They met briefly during their freshman year, and Matt likes to claim that Kayla couldn't keep her eyes off him from that day forward. In truth, both Kayla's and Matt's housemates starting hanging out during the fall of their junior year, and from that fateful day forward they have been pretty much inseparable. After school, Kayla decided to move up to the Twin Cities to start her career. Their love for each other grew stronger then, and eventually, they moved into their first apartment together in Burnsville, MN in 2016. Shortly after that, they (namely, Kayla) decided a furry friend was the logical next step. So they adopted an orange tabby cat named William. While Matt was skeptical at first, it took all of about 5 seconds for William to win his heart over. The three of them now can't live without each other, even if William can be a little bastard sometimes... Four years and many wonderful moments later, in July of 2020, Matt and Kayla decided to take a summer trip to the Northwoods of Ely, MN. While there, Matt took Kayla out on a canoe trip to a remote island, where he popped the question while looking out over the pristine waters of Shagawa Lake. This past year has brought a lot of change to their lives, from career moves to purchasing their first home. They are ecstatic to continue planning the wedding and have been looking forward to their big day in 2022. They cannot wait to be husband and wife and to continue to watch their love story grow.
