Our Wedding

While it’s been debated whether Collin and Kayla technically met several years prior to the “official meeting,” the summer of 2021 serves as the definite year where Collin and Kayla truly met and got to know each other. Performing opposite each other in a show called The Epic Story, the pair had just enough moments of friendship to plant seeds for the following summer.

THE MEETING

In 2022, Collin returned to Cincinnati for a weekend to see his mom perform in a show on a Friday night… and that’s when he saw Kayla again. It’s probably important to mention that Collin (completely unbeknownst to Kayla) had developed quite a crush on her the summer before, and now that the timing was right, he decided to make his move: buying a ticket for the Sunday matinee.&nbsp; After some prayer and a very specific fulfillment of a sign to reach out, Collin got his number 1 wingwoman (his mom) to share Kayla’s number so he could finally ask her out to lunch. It took some persistence and some divine nudges, but eventually the two ended up in a Taste of Belgium booth for a Sunday brunch, which ended up lasting over 8 hours.In all the dates that followed, they had lots of deep heart-to-heart conversations and many laughs. From there on, they continued building a deep foundation of love centered on Jesus and the redemption and peace that He brings.

THE FOUNDATION

After 2 years of dating, Collin finally began plotting for the most important day of his life to date - proposing! He took 5 separate trips to the jeweler behind Kayla’s back in order to secure the perfect ring, while also plotting with both his and her family to plan the perfect proposal she would never see coming. Under the guise of church and brunch with his parents, Collin drove Kayla up to Dayton. It was only when they parked in front of a little oasis known as Smith Memorial Gardens and not a brunch place that Kayla finally realized what was happening. Collin led her to a beautiful, surprise picnic set up, complete with a small ring box. Though she may or may not have blacked out, he definitely did share loving words, got down on one knee, and asked her to marry him - and she definitely said “YES!” They spent the next couple hours soaking in the moment together in the garden and celebrating with the picnic. Then they went to brunch as Kayla had initially thought, and ended the day with a surprise gathering of both families to celebrate the engagement.

THE PROPOSAL

Collin and Kayla have continued to grow in love through travel adventures, fancy dinners, cozy movie nights, and everything in between, all while keeping their hearts set on surrendering to God’s plan for their life and future over anything else. After a busy season of simultaneous career-building and wedding planning, they are so excited to get married and build their life together!

Bridesmaids

Coming in at a whopping 5 foot 0 inches, Olivia is the sister of the bride and the older of the Stroud twins. Also known as the child whisperer, her super power is tending to kids of any age. A recent graduate of UC, she will be starting as a 7th grade math teacher at Mason in the fall (everyone pray for her). She thoroughly enjoys watching pandas roll around and thoroughly does not enjoy when a plan changes.

Olivia Stroud

If you're in the mood to hear about a depressing or chaotic story about the healthcare system, Vanessa is your gal. She is the sister of the bride and (despite popular belief) the younger of the Stroud twins. She graduated from UK and currently works as a CICU nurse in Lexington. Her strengths include lifting heavy things, drawing, and out of pocket comments. Weaknesses include stink bugs and stains.

Cousin and forever bestie of the bride, Alex is one of two fabulous mamas in the bridal party. She has two precious angels, one of which is the ring bearer! In their early days you could find Alex and the bride wearing matching halloween costumes, having spa sleepovers, or choreographing their own dances to 90s hits. She's especially fond of chocolate strawberries and shoe shopping.

Having lived a lottttt of life together, Tess has been besties with bride since age 5. Truly a ride or die. If you want to find this iconic duo, go to Piada. They're always there. Tess is one of two lawyer baddies in the bridal party, having just graduated from UC Law and now a prisoner to studying for the bar. She fits the mom friend stereotype to a T and is always guilty of doing the most.

Tess Hogan

Abby met the bride in the golden years of middle school and their friendship flourished from there. She's the bride's ambitious adventure buddy and lives in NYC working as an account strategist for Google (she's so cool, right?!) She's artsy, loves a good brunch, and always wears the cutest earth toned outfits. A core memory for these pals was baking two trays of the Pillsbury Christmas cookies and regrettably eating all of them while watching a holiday rom com.

Abby Hickey

As the sis in law to be, Katie is the wife of the groom's brother, David, and the older sister the bride never had. Queen of conversation, she is the second lawyer baddie of the group and the other mama of the bunch. Her 1 year old Crosley has likely inherited her instigation tactics. She loves colors as bright as her personality and cows. The bride and her often find themselves influencing each other to buy things their Jung boys highly doubt they need but they're going to get anyway.

Groomsmen

As the youngest Jung sibling, Brian has always looked up to his older brothers, with David often the better option to follow the example of. A current psychology student at UC, Brian is embracing the one-time misspelling of his name to study the workings of the BRAIN. He is a hard worker sometimes when he’s in the mood for it, but he’s also a truly loyal friend with a big heart.

Brian Jung

As the oldest Jung sibling, David was always looked up to, until the groom grew much taller than him and still is to this day. David has been very successful in his career as a financial something at some company, as well as a great husband and now father to a child with a VERY large head. While he physically looks up to the groom, he is an amazing example of a true family man.

David Jung

Since the early age of 4 months old, Adam has been the groom's #1 partner in crime, from cousins, teammates, roommates, and throughout it all, best friends. As a devoted husband to his wife Madelyn and his other wife Golf, he always gives his best to whatever he sets his mind to. Adam has often been described as “the glue” of friendships as he always seems to bring people together for the 8-10 hours a day he is awake.

Just when you think you’re starting to know Cam pretty well, he surprises you with something you’d never expect - always keeping you on your toes. He’s a man of many unique and niche hobbies, including thrifting, home renovation, collecting pencil sharpeners, and supporting Chicago sports. Speaking of supporting old things, the tuxedo he’ll wear on wedding day will be 15 years newer than any other piece of clothing he owns.

Cam Owens

Austin's earliest moments with the groom were in high school, forged in the fires of seemingly never-ending Target shifts. The seeds of friendship were planted, and after a round robin of weddings in the friend group, Austin is a groomsman once more. He’s encouraging, humble, and fun to be around, so don’t let the quiet facade fool you - Party Austin will bring some crazy energy.

As the youngest sibling of the bride, Nick takes his job of intimidating future brothers-in-law very seriously — though it’s hard to be too intimidated by someone the Bride nicknamed “Bubba.” A fan of cold wings, military documentaries, and not wearing shirts, Nick walks the line between stoic and completely unhinged. Whether he’s training his body like a temple or showing up with a box on his head, you never have any idea what’s coming next.
