Our Wedding

DJ and Kayla share a deep love for all-star cheerleading. Their journey together began just before Kayla's senior year. Kayla was torn between different cheer gyms, so she, her mom, and sister had lunch with an old cheer coach. Afterward, they visited Cheer Athletics for the first time. While they were there talking, DJ walked in. Kayla was working on refining a tumbling pass for Worlds, and DJ offered to lend a hand. That moment sparked everything.Over the years, they became not only teammates but also co-coaches, and their bond grew into a beautiful friendship-then relationship. Last year, DJ and Kayla’s families came together during the week between the World and Summit Championships. Then, on May 1, 2024, Kayla thought she was going to a family photo session—but little did she know, DJ’s mom had hired a photographer to capture the moment he proposed. Their entire family, both immediate and cheer, were ecstatic! The week became even more magical for everyone's favorite coach couple when the team they coached together went on to win the Summit! Kayla ended up with two rings that week. It was truly a fairy tale week for them!
